Geocaching Walks
Our Bench Geocaching Walks
We’re building something simple and lovely: a way to explore your local area at a gentler pace, guided by places to pauserather than places to rush to.
Across towns, parks, hilltops and river paths, benches offer small pockets of rest. Somewhere to breathe for a moment, look at the view, sip a drink, or simply gather yourself. We’ve begun placing our geocaches at these benches, so that each walk becomes a slow discovery of quiet spots.
We’ll be using apps that help map and describe benches across the UK, such as BenchProject (Android), along with walking apps that share route details, access information, gradients, and difficulty levels. Our aim is to help you choose routes that feel right for your body and your day. No pressure to “complete” anything. Just walking, sitting, noticing, and continuing when you’re ready.
When you find a bench with one of our caches, you can collect its stamp in your little travel book, inspired by Japanese stamp trails and temple pilgrimage books. Each stamp marks a moment of pause, not achievement. A small memory you can return to.
Over time, our community will help choose and share new bench locations: favourite views, quiet corners, family-friendly stops, places that feel kind to the nervous system. A shared map of places where it is safe to slow down.
This is a gentle project. A steady one. An invitation to go out, rest often, and let the walk unfold.
